What are online advertising services?
Online advertising services are the planning, buying, creative and management of paid ads across social networks, video platforms, websites and apps. Digital Magma’s online advertising services cover Meta, LinkedIn, YouTube, connected TV and display ads, priced by impression, view or click, with conversion tracking and monthly optimisation so every channel is judged on the leads and sales it brings.
Four ways online ads are bought
- Self-serve auctions: you bid inside Meta Ads Manager, LinkedIn Campaign Manager or Google Ads, and the platform prices each impression in real time.
- Programmatic: software called a demand-side platform (DSP) buys impressions across thousands of publisher sites and apps at once.
- Direct or guaranteed: a fixed placement bought from one publisher at a set rate, such as a homepage takeover.
- Retail and marketplace media: ads sold by a store on its own site, such as sponsored products on Amazon.
How online ads are priced
In media terms, online advertising is paid media. Your website and social pages are owned media, and press coverage and reviews are earned media. The best plans use paid to reach people, then send them to owned channels that keep them.
Clear the confusion
Online advertising services vs PPC: what is the difference?
Online advertising services cover every paid channel, while PPC is one pricing model, mostly used for search ads. Many of the channels on this page are priced per thousand impressions or per view rather than per click.
| Question | PPC (search ads) | Online advertising (this page) |
|---|---|---|
| What the buyer is doing | Searching for a product or service right now | Scrolling, watching or reading. They may not know you exist yet |
| Main channels | Google Search, Shopping, Microsoft Advertising | Meta, LinkedIn, YouTube, connected TV, display, programmatic, native |
| Usual pricing unit | Cost per click | CPM, CPV, with CPC or CPL on social |
| Targeting built on | Keywords and search intent | People: interests, job titles, behaviour, lookalikes, first-party lists |
| Best for | Capturing demand that already exists | Creating demand, then converting it with retargeting |
| Typical KPI | Cost per lead, ROAS | Reach and frequency up top, cost per lead and ROAS at the bottom |
Start with search when…
People already type what you sell into Google: “emergency plumber”, “CRM for dentists”, “buy gemstones online”. Search ads meet them at the moment of intent.
Start with social or video when…
Nobody searches for your product yet. That covers a new category, a niche B2B service, or a product people have to see before they want it.
Run both when…
You are growing. Social and video fill the top of the funnel, and search catches the people who later look you up by name. Most of our clients end up here.
For Google Search and Shopping campaigns, keyword work and bidding, see our PPC services. This page covers everything else in paid media.
Every format
Online advertising types: every ad format Digital Magma plans and runs
Digital Magma's online advertising services are run hands-on in Google Ads, Meta Ads Manager, LinkedIn Campaign Manager and Microsoft Advertising. Other networks appear in our media plans when they fit, and we say plainly which ones we manage day to day.

- Advantage+ sales campaignsMeta’s automated sales campaign type, formerly called Advantage+ shopping

- Click-to-WhatsApp and Messenger adsThe ad opens a chat instead of a form, which suits buyers who would rather message
- Instant formsLead forms that open inside Facebook or Instagram, pre-filled from the profile
Paid social: LinkedIn

- Contextual targetingAds placed by page topic and keyword rather than by personal data
- Placement controlExclusion lists for low-quality sites, apps and content categories

Not sure which ads fit your business?
Tell us your product, buyer and budget. We will suggest the one or two channels that should get your first dollar or rupee.
Choose a platform
Online advertising channels: which platform fits your goal and budget?
Online advertising works best when the channel matches the goal. Pick by what you need people to do, then by who they are. The table below is where our planning starts.
| Your goal | Best first channel | Second channel | Pricing you will see |
|---|---|---|---|
| Leads for a service business | Meta instant forms or click-to-WhatsApp | Google Search (PPC) | CPM, judged on CPL |
| Online store sales | Meta Advantage+ sales and catalogue ads | YouTube and Demand Gen | CPM, judged on ROAS |
| B2B pipeline | LinkedIn sponsored content and lead gen forms | Meta or YouTube retargeting | CPM or CPC, judged on cost per qualified lead |
| App installs | Google App campaigns | Meta app ads | CPI, then cost per in-app action |
| Brand awareness | YouTube and connected TV | Meta reach campaigns | CPM and CPV, judged on reach and lift |
| Local footfall and calls | Meta radius targeting with call or WhatsApp buttons | Google Search and Maps | CPM, judged on cost per call |
B2B or B2C?
LinkedIn is the most accurate major platform for targeting by job title and company size. It is also expensive per click. Meta costs less and reaches almost everyone, but B2B targeting there relies on creative that makes the right people stop. YouTube suits products that need two minutes of explanation.
Small budget? One channel
Ad platforms need conversion data to learn. Split US$1,000 across four platforms and none of them gets enough. Start with one channel and one audience, get a stable cost per lead, then add the next.
Country check
Meta, LinkedIn and YouTube run in all six countries we serve. TikTok has been blocked in India since 2020, so Indian brands use Instagram Reels and YouTube Shorts for short video.
Sector notes: see SaaS digital marketing for B2B software, and ecommerce digital marketing for online stores.
The expert part
Online advertising strategy: how Digital Magma plans a full-funnel media mix
Every media plan in Digital Magma's online advertising services starts from the bottom of the funnel and works up. We first make sure the campaigns that ask for a lead or a sale are working, then fund the prospecting layer that feeds them.
The reason is simple. Retargeting is cheap and converts well, but it runs out of people. Prospecting is what refills the pool, and it only pays if something downstream turns those new visitors into buyers.
- Layers with one job each. Reach, consideration, conversion and retention each get their own campaign objective. A video views campaign is not asked to produce sales.
- Exclusions between layers. Past buyers are removed from prospecting, and people already in a retargeting pool are removed from cold audiences. Without this, you pay twice for the same person.
- Audience design by platform. On Meta we usually start broad and let creative do the targeting, because Advantage+ audience tends to find buyers faster than a stack of interests. On LinkedIn the targeting is layered: job function, seniority, company size. On display, contextual and first-party segments come first.
- Frequency on purpose. We cap how often one person sees a display or connected TV ad, and on social we rotate creative when frequency climbs. Seeing the same ad twelve times in a week annoys people and wastes money.
- Budget reviewed monthly. We don’t use a fixed percentage split. Each month the budget moves toward the layer with the best marginal return, based on the numbers.
Measuring what the ads really caused
Every platform takes credit for the same sale. Meta counts a purchase if someone saw an ad yesterday, Google counts it if they clicked a YouTube ad last week, and the totals add up to more sales than you made. So we report two numbers side by side: each platform’s own ROAS, and a blended figure called MER (total revenue divided by total ad spend).
For bigger budgets, the honest test is incrementality. A Meta Conversion Lift study, a Google Brand Lift study on YouTube, or a simple geo holdout (ads off in some regions, on in others) shows how many sales would have happened anyway. Platforms set their own eligibility rules for lift studies, so we check that first.
Media planning vs media buying: planning decides who to reach, where, how often and for how much. Buying is placing and optimising the ads. On self-serve platforms we do both. On programmatic, we plan and a DSP partner buys.
Paid media is one part of Digital Magma’s digital marketing services, and the plan sits alongside SEO and content.
Creative
Online advertising creative: formats, specs and how we test
Online advertising creative now does much of the targeting. When Meta or Google chooses the audience, the ad itself decides who stops scrolling, so we plan creative as carefully as budget.
| Shape | Ratio | Where it runs | Official spec page |
|---|---|---|---|
| Square | 1:1 | Meta carousels, Google responsive display (1200 × 1200) | Google Ads specs |
| Portrait | 4:5 | Facebook and Instagram feed, LinkedIn single image on mobile | Meta aspect ratios |
| Vertical | 9:16 | Reels, Stories, YouTube Shorts, LinkedIn vertical video | LinkedIn video specs |
| Wide | 16:9 and 1.91:1 | YouTube in-stream and connected TV (16:9), Google display horizontal (1200 × 628) | Google Ads specs |
Specs checked against each platform’s help pages in September 2026. Platforms change them often, so we recheck before every production round. Two rules hold everywhere: keep text and logos away from the top and bottom edges of vertical video, where the app’s buttons sit, and burn in captions, because many people watch with the sound off.
Hook, proof, offer, action
The first two seconds carry a hook: a problem, a result, or something visually odd. Then proof (a review, a number, a demo), the offer, and one clear call to action. Founder-led and phone-shot, UGC-style video often beats polished studio work on social. Carousels suit catalogues.
One variable per test
We test hooks first, then visuals, then offers. Changing all three at once tells you something worked but not what. Meta’s automation handles several ads per ad set well, so we launch three to six distinct concepts rather than twenty near-copies.
Kill and scale on cost, not clicks
An ad with a high click-through rate and no sales is still a bad ad. We judge creative on cost per lead or ROAS after it has had enough spend to mean something. Winners get budget, losers get paused.
Signs an ad is wearing out
- Frequency keeps rising week on week
- Click-through rate falls while spend holds
- CPM climbs with no change in targeting
- Cost per lead drifts up for two weeks running
When two of these show up together, a fresh set of hooks goes live. Ad copy comes from our content writing team, and video from video marketing.
Process
Online advertising process at Digital Magma: 6 steps from audit to scale
Digital Magma runs the same six steps for every online advertising account, whether it is one Meta campaign or a media plan across four countries.
Account and tracking audit
Past spend, campaign structure, audiences, placements, pixels and conversion events. We look for where money leaked and whether the platform can see real sales.
Goals, margins and budget
Your average order value, profit margin and lead-to-sale rate set the target cost per lead or ROAS. We agree it in writing.
Media plan
Channels, audiences, formats and budget per layer, plus what we will not do yet and why.
Tracking and creative
Conversions API, enhanced conversions, consent and UTMs set up and tested. The first creative round is produced to spec.
Launch and learning phase
Campaigns go live with enough budget per ad set to learn. We hold back on big edits until the platform has data.
Optimise, test and report
Weekly changes, a monthly test plan, and a cross-channel report. Budget moves to what converts.
Every month
Online advertising deliverables: what you get every month, and the tools we use
Online advertising services from Digital Magma come with a written task log, so you can see what was done for the fee. The list depends on your channels.
In the first two weeks
- Channel audit: what each account has spent, earned and wasted
- Media plan: channels, audiences, formats and budget split
- Tracking plan: every conversion event, where it fires and how it reaches each platform
- Creative brief: hooks, formats and sizes for round one
Every month after that
- Media plan update: budget moved between channels and layers
- New creative sets: fresh hooks and visuals before fatigue sets in
- Audience refresh: new lookalikes, updated customer lists, cleaned exclusions
- Placement and brand-safety review: junk sites and apps excluded
- Tracking health check: event match quality, duplicate events, consent signals
- Cross-channel report and call: one report for every platform, then 30 minutes on next month’s tests
Measurement and privacy
Online advertising tracking: Conversions API, Consent Mode v2 and first-party data
Online advertising only improves if the platforms can see what happened after the click. Browser blocking, iPhone privacy settings and consent rules mean a pixel on its own now misses sales, so Digital Magma sets up server-side signals as a standard part of its online advertising services.
- Meta Pixel plus Conversions API. The pixel reports from the browser and the Conversions API reports the same event from your server. Meta removes the duplicate when both carry the same event name and event ID, within 48 hours (Meta for Developers).
- LinkedIn Insight Tag and LinkedIn Conversions API. The API can send online and offline conversions, including leads that became sales in your CRM. Google Tag Manager is one of LinkedIn’s listed partner integrations (LinkedIn Help).
- Google enhanced conversions. Hashed first-party data, such as an email from a form, helps Google match conversions it would otherwise miss. Detail on this sits on our PPC services page.
- Consent Mode v2. Since March 2024, Google has required advertisers to pass consent signals (ad_user_data and ad_personalization) for users in the EEA to keep measurement and remarketing working (Google Ads Help, Customer Match FAQ). Google’s EU user consent policy also covers the UK and Switzerland.
- Server-side tagging. Worth it for high spend across several platforms, because it recovers signal and gives you control over what data leaves your site. It adds hosting cost and needs a developer, so for smaller accounts the Conversions API through a platform integration is usually enough. We tell you which camp you are in.
Why Ads Manager and GA4 never agree
Meta counts a conversion after a click within seven days or a view within one day by default, and it credits the conversion to the day of the ad. GA4 applies its own attribution model across every channel, on the day of the sale, and never sees an ad view that led to no click. Neither is wrong. They are answering different questions. We set one UTM standard across every campaign so GA4 can at least see each click’s source, and we explain the gap in every report.
Privacy rules we plan around
GDPR in the EU and UK GDPR in Britain; CCPA, as amended by the CPRA, in California; India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act 2023, whose rules were notified on 14 November 2025 with an 18-month phased rollout (PIB); and the UAE’s Personal Data Protection Law. Apple’s App Tracking Transparency, live since iOS 14.5 in 2021, is why mobile targeting and reporting on Meta got weaker, and why server-side data matters. Chrome still allows third-party cookies after Google dropped its phase-out plan (Google Privacy Sandbox), but Safari blocks third-party cookies by default and Firefox blocks cross-site tracking cookies. We are not lawyers, and your legal team signs off on consent wording.

Market data
Online advertising benchmarks 2026: what clicks and leads cost by channel
Online advertising benchmarks are useful for one thing: spotting when your numbers are far off normal. These come from named public sources, and most are US averages.
| Campaign type | Avg CTR | Avg CPC | Conversion rate | Cost per lead |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Facebook traffic campaigns | 1.93% | $0.60 | – | – |
| Facebook lead campaigns | 2.70% | $1.80 | 8.54% | $27.39 |
| Search ads (for comparison) | 6.64% | $5.42 | 8.18% | $66.69 |
Sources: LocaliQ, Facebook Advertising Benchmarks for 2026 (published 23 September 2026) and LocaliQ, Search Advertising Benchmarks 2026 (published 1 June 2026). All-industry averages.
Where the money goes: US internet ad revenue, 2025
Source: IAB/PwC Internet Advertising Revenue Report, full year 2025, released 16 April 2026. Categories overlap: programmatic is a buying method that cuts across display, video and social.
What the numbers say
A Facebook lead cost less than half a search lead on average. That does not make social better. Search leads usually arrive with more intent, so the fair comparison is cost per sale.
Your market will differ
These are US averages. Costs in India, the UAE, the UK and Australia run at their own levels, sometimes far from these. After month two, compare against your own account history first.
We have not found a named public benchmark for LinkedIn or connected TV costs that we would stand behind, so this page gives none. Search benchmarks by industry are on our PPC services page.
Industries
Online advertising for industries: channels that work by sector
Online advertising rules and channel choices change by industry. Some sectors face platform policies that limit targeting, and every sector has its own buying season.
Healthcare
Meta removed detailed targeting options tied to health topics in 2022, and some Google health categories need certification. Ads have to avoid implying they know a person’s condition. Trust-first landing pages and Search usually lead, with video for awareness.
SaaS and B2B software
LinkedIn for job-title targeting, promoted posts from the founder, and retargeting on Meta and YouTube to stay visible through long buying cycles. The KPI is demo requests that sales accepts, not form fills.
Ecommerce and D2C
Meta Advantage+ sales and catalogue ads, YouTube and Demand Gen for new customers, and Shopping for search intent. Product feed quality decides how well all of them work.
Real estate
Meta treats housing ads as a special ad category. In the US, Canada and some European countries that limits age, gender and postcode targeting and lookalikes (Meta Business Help). Instant forms and click-to-WhatsApp work well for site visits.
Education
Lead forms and YouTube timed to intake seasons, with budget raised in the weeks before applications close. Parent and student audiences often need separate creative.
Local business
Radius targeting around the shop, call and WhatsApp buttons, and offers tied to local events. Small budgets go further when the audience is a few kilometres wide.
Sectors where Digital Magma has delivered online advertising services with approved case notes: D2C ecommerce, astrology and gemstones, visa services, coworking and local trades.
Worldwide
Online advertising services worldwide: countries, platforms and rules
Online advertising services from Digital Magma are delivered remotely from Noida, India, to clients in six countries. There are no overseas offices. Campaigns are scheduled in your time zone and billed by the platforms in your currency.
| Country | Main paid platforms | Billed in | Privacy law to plan for | Overlap with our hours (IST) |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| USA | Meta, YouTube, LinkedIn, TikTok, Reddit | USD | CCPA/CPRA in California and other state laws | East Coast mornings, our evenings |
| UK | Meta, YouTube, LinkedIn, TikTok | GBP | UK GDPR and PECR (cookies) | Most of the UK working day |
| UAE | Meta, YouTube, LinkedIn, Snapchat, TikTok | AED | Personal Data Protection Law (2021) | Almost the full day |
| Canada | Meta, YouTube, LinkedIn, TikTok | CAD | PIPEDA, plus Quebec’s Law 25 | Eastern Canada mornings, our evenings |
| Australia | Meta, YouTube, LinkedIn, TikTok | AUD | Privacy Act 1988 | Australian afternoons, our mornings |
| India | Meta, YouTube, LinkedIn (no TikTok) | INR | DPDP Act 2023 and 2025 rules | Full day |
Cross-border campaigns
An Indian exporter selling into the UK or UAE can run ads from its Indian business, targeting buyers abroad. The plan covers each country’s consent rules, currency on the landing page, delivery promises and separate budgets per market so one country cannot eat the other’s spend.
Localised creative
British and American spelling, local currency and price points, local holidays and sale seasons (Diwali, Ramadan, Black Friday, Boxing Day), and faces and settings that look like the market. A single global ad rarely wins everywhere.
What changed
Online advertising in 2026: AI automation, AI answers and ChatGPT ads
Online advertising in 2026 is shaped by automation that chooses the audience, and by new ad slots inside AI answers. Each change below is dated and linked to its source.
Automation took over targeting
Meta’s Advantage+ sales campaigns (renamed from Advantage+ shopping) and Google’s Performance Max and Demand Gen now decide much of who sees an ad. What advertisers control is the creative, the conversion data and the budget. That is why this page spends so long on tracking and testing.
Ads inside Google’s AI Mode
At Google Marketing Live on 20 May 2026, Google announced tests of ad formats in AI Mode, including Conversational Discovery ads and Highlighted Answers (Google). They are bought through Google Ads, so they sit with our PPC work.
Ads in ChatGPT
OpenAI now sells ads in ChatGPT through its own self-serve Ads Manager, and it added countries several times during 2026. Its help centre keeps the current list. We treat it as a test channel for now: small budgets, clear tracking and no promises about results until there is data.
Social and video take the growth
In the IAB/PwC 2025 report, social ad revenue grew 32.6% and digital video 25.4%, against 11.0% for search. Budgets are moving to the channels this page covers, which also means more competition for the same feeds.
Paid visibility in AI answers works best alongside organic visibility. See our AI SEO services and ChatGPT SEO for how brands get cited without paying for the slot.
Pricing
Online advertising cost: how pricing works and what changes the quote
Online advertising cost has two parts: the media spend you pay to the platforms, and the management fee you pay Digital Magma. Media is billed by Meta, Google or LinkedIn to your own card. Our fee is a custom quote based on scope.
Ad account review
For accounts already spending.
Free

Custom quote

- Weekly optimisation
- Cross-channel report and call
Ads + SEO
Paid and organic under one plan.
Custom quote
- Shared keyword and audience data
- Landing pages that rank and convert
- One report for both
How agencies charge for ad management
- Percentage of spend: the fee rises with the budget. Simple, but it rewards spending more.
- Flat monthly fee: fixed for an agreed scope. Predictable for both sides.
- Hybrid: a flat base plus a smaller percentage above a spend level.
- Creative: either included up to a number of assets a month, or billed per round. Ask which before you sign.
| What changes the quote | Why |
|---|---|
| Number of platforms | Each platform has its own account, audiences, creative sizes and reporting. |
| Monthly ad spend | More spend means more campaigns, tests and checks. |
| Creative volume | Three statics a month and twelve videos a month are very different jobs. |
| Tracking complexity | A store with a standard integration is quicker than a CRM with offline sales. |
| Countries and languages | Each market needs its own budget, creative and consent set-up. |
| Landing pages | New pages per campaign add design and build time. |
How much should you spend per day on Meta? Enough for each ad set to reach around 50 optimisation events a week (see the timeline below). Work backwards: at a $30 cost per lead, that is about $1,500 a week per ad set. If that is out of reach, optimise for a cheaper event higher up the funnel, or run fewer ad sets. For comparison, Digital Magma’s SEO plans have fixed prices: local SEO ₹14,999 a month and local plus national SEO ₹29,999 a month, plus GST (SEO packages).
Compare
Online advertising agency vs freelancer vs in-house team: which is right?
An online advertising agency gives you media buying, tracking and creative skills without hiring three people. A freelancer is cheaper, and an in-house team knows your business best. Here is where each wins.
| Factor | Agency (Digital Magma) | Freelancer | In-house team |
|---|---|---|---|
| Channels covered | Meta, LinkedIn, YouTube, display, search | Usually one or two | Depends on who you hire |
| Creative capacity | Copy and video through our content and video services | Often outsourced | Strong if you hire a designer |
| Tracking skills | GTM, GA4 and Conversions API set-up included | Varies widely | Often a gap |
| Cost | One fee, custom quote | Lowest | Salaries, tools and training |
| Cover for leave | Yes | No | Gap until you rehire |
| Speed to start | About a week | Days | Months of hiring |
| Knowledge of your product | Builds over months | Varies | Deepest |
| Best for | Growing brands on two or more platforms | One platform, small budget | Large, steady budgets |
A common set-up that works: creative and brand stay in-house, while media buying and tracking go to a team that offers online advertising services. If you need a dedicated person instead, see hire digital marketing experts.
Buyer’s guide
Online advertising agency checklist: how to choose the right partner
A good online advertising agency keeps every account in your name, fixes tracking before it spends, and reports on sales. Use this checklist on anyone you are considering, Digital Magma included.
Green flags
- You own the ad accounts, Business Manager, pixels and datasets
- A tracking audit happens before new spend
- A written creative testing plan
- One report covering every platform, with a blended number
- Brand-safety and placement exclusions set on day one
- They raise incrementality before you ask about platform ROAS
Red flags
- Guaranteed ROAS or a guaranteed number of leads
- “Boosting posts” sold as a strategy
- Reports that show reach and likes but no leads
- Ads run from the agency’s own Business Manager
- A hidden markup on your media spend
- No answer when you ask how they measure what the ads caused
Eight questions to ask any online advertising agency
- Which channel would you start with for my business, and why that one?
- What target cost per lead or ROAS do my margins allow?
- How will you pass my real sales back to Meta and Google?
- Which platforms do you run yourselves, and which do you outsource?
- How many new creatives will I get each month, and who makes them?
- How do you decide when to kill an ad?
- How is your fee kept separate from my ad spend?
- What happens to my accounts and data if we stop working together?
To see how we answer these, read about Digital Magma or ask on the first call.
What to expect
Online advertising results: what to expect in 30, 60 and 90 days
Online advertising results start within days, but the first month is mostly the platforms learning. Meta says an ad set is “learning limited” when it is unlikely to get around 50 optimisation events in the week after its last significant edit (Meta Business Help).
Set-up and launch
Audit, tracking, media plan and first creative. Campaigns go live.
Learning phase
Costs swing. We avoid big edits, which restart learning, and cut only clear losers.
A stable cost band
Cost per lead settles into a range. The second creative round replaces tired ads.
Scale
More budget, new audiences or a second channel, and a first lift test if the budget allows.
Accounts that start with broken tracking take longer, because the platforms have been learning from the wrong signals.
Measurement
Online advertising KPIs: what Digital Magma measures and reports
Reports for Digital Magma's online advertising services open with leads, sales and cost per result, then explain the numbers underneath. Each KPI has a job, and the table on the right says what it is.
How the monthly report is laid out
- Page one: total spend, leads or sales, blended cost per result and MER
- One table per channel: spend, reach, frequency, CPM, CTR, cost per result, platform ROAS
- Creative: the best and worst ads of the month, with the reason
- Lead quality: how many leads became customers, where your CRM tells us
- Next month: the tests we will run and the budget changes we recommend
Avoid these
Online advertising mistakes: wasted spend, ad fraud and brand-safety risks
Online advertising budgets are rarely lost in one bad decision. They leak through settings nobody checks. These are the leaks we find most often when we audit an account before starting online advertising services.
Boosting posts
The boost button optimises for engagement, so you pay for likes from people who will never buy. Use campaigns in Ads Manager with a conversion objective.
Too many small ad sets
Ten ad sets at $10 a day each will sit in learning forever. Three well-funded ones will exit it.
Judging by CTR or likes
Cheap clicks and high engagement often come from the wrong people. Judge on cost per lead that sales accepts.
No exclusions between layers
Past buyers see acquisition offers, and warm visitors sit in cold audiences. You pay twice and annoy customers.
Display with no placement exclusions
Automatic placements can spend heavily on mobile games and made-for-advertising sites built only to show ads. Exclude them from day one for brand safety, and review the placement report monthly.
Ignoring viewability and invalid traffic
The industry standard counts a display ad as viewable when half its pixels are on screen for one second, and a video ad at two seconds. Bots and accidental clicks inflate numbers too. Google refunds some invalid clicks, but not everything that looks odd.
Myth: “Facebook ads don’t work for B2B”
They often do, when the creative names the job role and problem clearly enough that the right people self-select. LinkedIn targets better, and Meta usually reaches the same people for less. Test both with the same offer.
Myth: “Programmatic means cheap banners”
Programmatic is a way of buying, not a format. It covers video, connected TV, audio and premium publisher deals. Cheap open-exchange banners are one corner of it, and the corner with most of the fraud risk.

Most wasted spend is invisible
Automatic placements and loose audiences quietly buy junk impressions. A monthly look at the placement and breakdown reports saves more than any bid strategy.
Feed the machine real sales
If the platform only sees form fills, it finds people who fill forms. Send back qualified leads and sales, and it finds buyers.
Creative wears out
An ad that works in week one often fades by week six. Plan a new set of hooks every month.
The landing page closes the sale
A slow, generic page can double what you pay per lead. Match the page to the ad, and put the form or WhatsApp button where the thumb lands.

FAQs
Online advertising services: frequently asked questions
What are online advertising services?
Online advertising services are the planning, buying, creative and management of paid ads on social networks, video platforms, websites and apps. Digital Magma’s online advertising services cover Meta, LinkedIn, YouTube, connected TV and display ads, with conversion tracking and a monthly report that judges each channel on leads and sales.
What is the difference between online advertising and PPC?
PPC means paying per click, and the term is mostly used for search ads on Google and Bing. Online advertising is the wider group of paid channels, including social, video and display, many of which are priced per thousand impressions. Search captures existing demand, and social and video create it. See our PPC services for search.
How much do online advertising services cost?
Online advertising has two costs: media spend, paid directly to Meta, Google or LinkedIn, and a management fee. Digital Magma quotes the fee on scope: number of platforms, spend, creative volume, tracking work and countries. The first ad account review is free.
Which online advertising platform is best for a small business?
For most small businesses, Meta (Facebook and Instagram) is the best first platform, because it is cheap to reach people locally and lead forms or WhatsApp buttons make enquiries easy. If people already search for what you sell, Google Search ads come first. Start with one platform and add a second once cost per lead is stable.
Are Facebook and Instagram ads better than Google Ads?
Neither is better in general. They do different jobs. Google Search ads reach people already looking, so leads tend to carry more intent and cost more. Meta ads reach people before they search, at lower cost per lead on average. LocaliQ’s 2026 data put Facebook leads at $27.39 against $66.69 for search.
Are LinkedIn ads worth it for B2B companies?
LinkedIn ads are often worth it when one new customer is worth a lot, because LinkedIn has the most accurate job-title and company targeting of the major platforms. Clicks cost more than on Meta, so the offer has to be strong, and results should be judged on qualified pipeline rather than cost per click.
What is programmatic advertising, in simple terms?
Programmatic advertising is software buying ad space automatically. A demand-side platform bids for each impression across thousands of sites, apps and connected TV services in the fraction of a second before a page loads. It covers banners, video and audio. Digital Magma plans programmatic campaigns and works with a DSP partner for the buying.
How long does it take for online ads to show results?
Online ads bring traffic within days, but costs settle after the learning phase, usually in weeks two to four. Expect a stable cost per lead range in month two and scaling in month three. Accounts with broken tracking take longer, because the platform has been learning from the wrong signals.
What is a good CPM or cost per lead?
It depends on your country, industry and offer. As a reference, LocaliQ’s 2026 benchmarks show an average Facebook lead campaign cost per lead of $27.39 in the US. Other countries run at different levels. After two months, your own account history is a better benchmark than any average.
Why do Meta Ads Manager and GA4 show different numbers?
They count differently. Meta credits a sale to an ad seen or clicked within its attribution window, including views without a click. GA4 uses its own attribution model and cannot see ad views without a click. Both can be right. We set consistent UTMs, add the Conversions API, and report platform numbers next to a blended figure.
Do you create the ad creative as well?
Digital Magma writes ad copy and produces static and video creative sized for each placement, with a fresh round each month. If you have an in-house designer or a video team, we write the briefs and hooks and they produce the assets.
Who owns the ad accounts and pixels?
You do. Ad accounts, Business Manager, pixels, datasets and analytics stay in your name, and we work with access you grant. Media spend is billed to your card by the platforms. If we stop working together, you remove our access and keep everything.
Can you run online ads in the USA, UK, UAE, Canada and Australia from India?
Digital Magma runs campaigns for clients in all five countries from Noida. The platforms work the same wherever the manager sits. We schedule ads in your time zone, bill in your currency, localise creative and set up consent for each market’s privacy rules.
Can my business advertise on ChatGPT or in Google AI Mode?
Both are opening up. Google announced tests of ad formats in AI Mode in May 2026, delivered through Google Ads. OpenAI sells ChatGPT ads through its own Ads Manager in a growing list of countries shown in its help centre. We treat both as test channels with small budgets for now.
Do you guarantee ROAS or a number of leads?
Digital Magma does not guarantee ROAS or lead numbers, and you should be careful of anyone who does. Results depend on your offer, margins, website and market. What we commit to in writing is the work: tracking, testing, optimisation and honest monthly reporting against an agreed target.
