What are digital marketing services?
Digital marketing services are the paid, professional work that brings buyers to a business online and turns them into enquiries and sales: search engine optimisation, AI search visibility, pay-per-click and social ads, social media, content, email, websites and analytics. Digital Magma provides digital marketing services from Noida, India, to businesses worldwide and reports every channel against leads and revenue.
What a digital marketing agency does day to day
A digital marketing agency researches your market, decides which channels to use, builds the campaigns and pages, runs them, measures what they return and moves budget toward whatever works. Most of the week is unglamorous. Reading search-term reports. Fixing a conversion tag that stopped firing after a site update. Rewriting an ad that has gone stale, briefing a writer, replying to reviews. And answering the question every owner eventually asks: where did this month’s leads come from?
Paid, owned and earned media
- Paid media: ads you buy on Google, Meta, LinkedIn, YouTube or Amazon. Fast to start, and they stop the day the budget does.
- Owned media: your website, email list, WhatsApp opt-ins and social profiles. You control them, and they get cheaper per lead over time.
- Earned media: rankings, reviews, press coverage, backlinks and mentions inside AI answers. The slowest to win and the hardest for a rival to copy.
Digital marketing vs traditional marketing
A newspaper ad or a hoarding reaches everyone who walks past and tells you almost nothing about who acted. Online, you choose who sees a message by search query, location, job title or past behaviour. You count what each person did next. You can change the message the same afternoon. That measurability is the real advantage, and it only holds when tracking is set up properly.
Why the definition now includes AI answers
Buyers ask Google AI Overviews, AI Mode, ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini and Copilot for recommendations before they open a single website. A brand those tools cannot describe accurately drops off the shortlist without ever knowing the question was asked. We treat AI search visibility as a channel with its own checks and its own line in the report.
Each type of media feeds the others. Ads send visitors to pages you own and build brand awareness, those pages earn links and reviews, and the earned trust makes the next ad cheaper.
Self-check
Digital marketing services: who needs them, and 6 signs it is time
Digital marketing services suit any business whose buyers search, scroll or ask an AI tool before they call. That covers small businesses, startups, B2B and SaaS firms, ecommerce and D2C brands, local services, healthcare, education and exporters selling abroad. These six signs usually mean it is time to get help.
Traffic arrives, enquiries don’t
Visits look healthy in GA4, yet the phone stays quiet. Usually the tracking counts the wrong actions, or the landing page asks too much of a first-time visitor.
Cost per lead keeps rising
Google or Meta costs climb every quarter while lead volume stays flat. Loose targeting, tired creative and missing negative keywords are the usual culprits.
Fix: PPC management with a weekly search-terms review.
Rivals show up in AI answers, you don’t
Ask ChatGPT or Google’s AI Mode for the best option in your category and a competitor gets named. Your brand is missing, or described with old facts.
Fix: AI SEO built on solid search foundations.
Several vendors, nobody accountable
A freelancer runs ads, someone else posts on Instagram, and the web developer “does SEO”. When leads drop, each one points at the others.
Fix: one plan, one report, one owner.
A launch or new market with no plan
A new product, a new city or a first push into the UK or UAE starts with scattered spending, and the first month’s budget teaches you very little.
Fix: a channel plan by goal and budget.
Leads arrive and go cold
Enquiries come in, but follow-up is slow and there is no email or WhatsApp sequence to catch the people who were not ready to buy yet.
Fix: email marketing and automated follow-up.
When is it a poor fit? If nobody searches for what you sell yet, or the budget cannot fund even one channel properly for three months, outside help will struggle. We say so in the review and suggest what to fix first.
Recognise two or more of these?
Send us your website. Digital Magma will tell you which problem to solve first and what it is likely to cost.

Process
Digital marketing agency process: how Digital Magma works in 6 steps
Digital Magma’s digital marketing agency process has six steps, and each one ends with something you can hold us to: a document, a dashboard or a report.
Audit
We review your website, tracking, search and AI visibility, ad accounts, social pages and your top three competitors. Output: an audit summary with the problems ranked by cost to you.
Goals and budget
Together we agree a target cost per lead or return on ad spend, and the budget that can realistically reach it. Output: a one-page goal sheet, signed off in writing.
Channel plan
We decide which channels go first, what each one must deliver, and what we will deliberately leave for later. Output: a channel plan with monthly milestones.
Tracking set-up
GA4, Google Tag Manager, conversion tracking and consent settings are fixed before any spend goes live. Output: a live dashboard you can open any time.
Launch and build
Campaigns, pages, content and posts go out on an agreed calendar. Output: a shared work log showing every task and its date.
Report and shift budget
Every month we review leads and sales by channel, then move money toward what works. Output: a written report and a review call.
The first review is free. You can also start with a free SEO audit or the review form at the top of this page.
Every month
Digital marketing services deliverables: what you get every month
Digital marketing services from Digital Magma come with a shared work log, so you can see what was done for your fee each month. The exact list depends on the channels in your plan, but a typical month looks like this.
- Search: technical fixes, new or improved pages, earned links and Google Business Profile posts
- Ads: fresh copy and creatives, negative keywords, bid and budget changes, and a test log that records what we tried and what happened
- Social and video: a content calendar, posts, Reels or Shorts, and replies to comments and messages
- Content marketing and email: blog posts or guides, a newsletter, and automated sequences built or improved
- Report: leads, sales, cost per lead, rankings and AI visibility, broken down by channel
- Review call: 30 minutes on results, plus next month’s plan in writing
Prefer fixed SEO scopes? The SEO packages page lists exactly what each plan includes.
Where to start
Digital marketing channels: which to start with for your goal and budget
The right digital marketing channels depend on your goal and your budget. A local clinic, an online store and a B2B software firm each need a different first move, and this table shows where Digital Magma usually starts.
| Your goal | Start with | Add at months 3–6 | First KPI to watch |
|---|---|---|---|
| Local calls and visits | Google Business Profile, local SEO, Google Search ads | Meta ads, click-to-WhatsApp, a review programme | Calls, direction requests, cost per lead |
| Ecommerce sales | Shopping and Performance Max, product SEO, email flows | Meta ads, influencer and creator content | Return on ad spend, revenue per email |
| B2B leads and demos | SEO, LinkedIn (company page and founder), Google Search ads | LinkedIn ads, nurture email, digital PR | Qualified leads, demo bookings, pipeline value |
| App installs | App campaigns on Google, Meta app ads, store listing copy | YouTube, remarketing to lapsed users | Cost per install, then cost per active user |
| Awareness for a launch | Short-form video on YouTube and Meta, creator posts | Search ads on brand terms, remarketing | Reach in the target audience, branded search growth |
| Selling abroad | International SEO, Search ads per country | Content and landing pages per market | Leads and cost per lead by country |
Plan for paid, owned and earned
Ads buy speed. Owned channels such as email and your website lower the cost of each repeat sale. Earned media, meaning rankings, reviews and press, builds the trust that makes both work harder. A plan that stays on paid media forever keeps paying full price for every customer.
Our budget rule of thumb
This is our method, not an industry statistic: run two channels well before adding a third, and add the next one only when cost per lead has been stable for a few weeks. Small budgets spread across six platforms rarely give any one of them enough data to learn.
Search and ads share one brain
Paid search shows within weeks which keywords turn into enquiries. Those keywords become SEO priorities. As organic rankings arrive, the ad budget on the same terms can shrink or move to new tests.

The expert part
Digital marketing strategy: how Digital Magma’s experts plan the mix
A digital marketing strategy at Digital Magma answers five questions before any budget is spent: which channel does which job, how results will be measured, which data you will own, which searches you can win early, and how far to trust the ad platforms’ automation.
1. A full-funnel map
Buyers move from awareness to consideration to conversion and, if you are lucky, to repeat purchase. Each stage needs a different channel. Video and social build awareness. Search, comparison content and reviews carry consideration. Search ads, landing pages and remarketing close the sale, and email or WhatsApp keep customers coming back.
For a D2C gemstone and astrology brand, we ran SEO, Google Ads across Search, Display and Shopping, and a content strategy on the same set of keywords. Research-stage articles answered questions buyers asked for weeks. Display and remarketing kept the brand in view. Shopping and Search caught people once they were ready to buy. Treated as one funnel, each channel’s data improved the others.
2. Measurement comes first
Before a campaign goes live we set up GA4 key events, enhanced conversions in Google Ads, the Meta Conversions API, a UTM naming rule and consent mode where the law needs it. Google’s own help page on consent mode explains how visitors’ cookie choices are passed to its tags. A common finding in our audits: the account counts page views or button clicks as leads, so the bidding system optimises for the wrong thing.
3. First-party data
Email subscribers, WhatsApp opt-ins and CRM lists are audiences you own. They power remarketing, lookalike targeting and offline conversion imports, and they matter more as browsers restrict third-party cookies. Every plan we write includes a way to grow at least one of these lists.
4. Future keywords
Most keyword tools show a search only after it has become popular, which is when everyone starts competing for it. We look for searches that are just starting to grow and publish before the peak. A Noida software development company reached #1 on Google for “top software development companies in noida” within two months using nine posts built on that idea. Read the software company case study.
5. Automation with guard rails
Performance Max, Demand Gen and Meta Advantage+ make many targeting decisions themselves. They work well when fed clean conversion data and a steady supply of new creative. They waste money when the conversion signal is noisy. So we check tracking first, add brand exclusions and negative keywords where the platform allows, and read placement and search-term reports every week. The detail is on our PPC services page.
Stack
Digital marketing tools: the stack Digital Magma uses
Digital Magma works with ten core digital marketing tools. The list is short on purpose, and every recommendation still starts from your own account data.
- Google Analytics 4
- Google Search Console
- Google Tag Manager
- Google Ads
- Meta Ads Manager
- LinkedIn Campaign Manager
- Looker Studio
- Ahrefs
- Semrush
- Screaming Frog
Measure
Google Analytics 4 records what visitors do. Google Tag Manager deploys the tags without developer tickets for every change. Looker Studio pulls the numbers into one dashboard you can open any time.
Search
Google Search Console shows real queries, clicks and indexing problems. Ahrefs and Semrush cover keyword research, competitor gaps and backlinks. Screaming Frog crawls the site the way a search engine does.
Advertise
Campaigns run inside Google Ads, Meta Ads Manager and LinkedIn Campaign Manager, always in accounts registered to you. AI visibility is checked by hand in ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini and Google AI Overviews.

AI search
Digital marketing services for AI search: GEO, AEO and LLM visibility
Digital marketing services now have to reach buyers who ask an AI assistant instead of scrolling a results page. Digital Magma builds that work into SEO, content and PR, and measures it separately.
Three terms, one goal
- Generative engine optimisation (GEO): making your pages a source that AI summaries such as Google AI Overviews and AI Mode cite
- Answer engine optimisation (AEO): writing short, direct answers that assistants and voice search can quote as they are
- LLM visibility: how ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini and Copilot describe your brand, products and prices
Why it matters now
Google said at I/O in May 2025 that AI Overviews “have scaled to over 1.5 billion users” and run in 200 countries and territories (Google I/O 2025 keynote). A Pew Research Center study published on 22 July 2025 found that users clicked a traditional result in 8% of visits when an AI summary appeared, against 15% when none did.
Fewer clicks for the same ranking means a brand has to be named inside the answer, and has to measure success beyond visits.
What it changes across channels
- SEO: answer-first pages, schema markup and consistent business facts
- PR: mentions on the publications and directories AI tools read
- Social and video: YouTube, LinkedIn and forum content that assistants draw on
- Reporting: calls, branded searches and AI mentions tracked next to clicks
What Digital Magma does
We check how ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini and AI Overviews describe your brand today, fix inconsistent facts across your site and listings, add structured data, and repeat the same checks by hand each month. Nobody can promise a citation, and we don’t. More detail is on our AI SEO services, ChatGPT SEO and AI Overviews optimisation pages.

Compare
Digital marketing agency vs in-house team vs freelancer: which is right?
A digital marketing agency gives you several specialists for one fee, an in-house team gives you the deepest business knowledge, and a freelancer gives you the lowest cost for a narrow job. The right choice depends on how many channels you need and who will own the results.
| Factor | Agency (Digital Magma) | In-house team | Freelancer |
|---|---|---|---|
| Channels covered | SEO, ads, social, content, email, tracking | Depends on who you hire | Usually one or two |
| Time to start | Fast, no hiring needed | Slow, recruitment first | Fast |
| Cost structure | One monthly fee, written scope | Salaries, benefits, tools, training | Lowest, usually hourly or per task |
| Tools included | Ahrefs, Semrush and Screaming Frog | You pay for each licence | Sometimes |
| Cover when someone leaves | Yes, the work continues | Gap until you rehire | No |
| Knowledge of your business | Builds over months | Deepest | Varies |
| Accountability | Contract, scope and monthly report | Your line management | One person, one task |
| Best for | Multi-channel growth with one owner | Large, steady budgets | A single, well-defined job |
The hybrid model
Many growing businesses keep one in-house marketer who owns the brand, the calendar and sales feedback, and hand search, ads and tracking to an agency. In that setup your marketer joins the monthly call and has access to every account and report. If you are hiring, see hire digital marketing experts.
When a freelancer is the better choice
If you need one thing done, such as a batch of blog posts, a Shopify theme fix or a single Google Ads campaign on a small budget, a good freelancer is often cheaper and faster. An agency earns its fee when several channels have to work together and someone has to answer for the total.
Buyer’s guide
Digital marketing agency checklist: how to choose one (green flags, red flags, questions)
The best digital marketing company for you shows results you can check, writes the scope down and reports on leads rather than reach. Use this checklist before you sign with anyone, Digital Magma included.
Green flags: look for these
- Case studies that name their data source
- A written scope, fee and notice period
- Ad accounts and analytics set up in your name
- Reports that start with leads and sales
- A clear view on AI search and consent rules
- A named person who works on your account
Red flags: walk away from these
- “Guaranteed #1 on Google” or guaranteed ROAS
- Ad accounts owned by the agency
- Bulk follower or backlink packages
- Reports full of reach and impressions but no leads
- A hidden markup on your ad spend
- Long lock-in contracts before any results
Six questions to ask any digital marketing company
- Which channel would you start with for my business, and why?
- What will you deliver in the first 30, 60 and 90 days?
- How will you track a lead from the first click to a sale?
- Who will actually do the work, and what have they done before?
- How is your fee kept separate from my ad spend?
- What happens to my accounts and content if we stop working together?
Ask us the same questions. The answers are in our case studies, on this page, and in the free audit we send before any contract.
What to expect
Digital marketing results timeline: what happens in 30, 60 and 90 days
Digital marketing results arrive in layers. Paid ads can bring leads within weeks, while SEO and content usually take months, then keep paying back long after the work is done.
Foundations
Audit, tracking fixed, channel plan agreed, first campaigns live and the first technical fixes shipped.
First signals
Ads settle and cost per lead starts to fall. Long-tail searches begin to rank. Email and WhatsApp flows go live.
First review
A full channel review. Budget moves to the lowest cost per lead, and the next quarter’s plan is written.
Compounding
Organic traffic and social reach build. Content, reviews, email lists and remarketing audiences add value every month.
One honest caveat: the UK tele-oncology startup’s 30+ ranked keywords in month one came in a new, narrow niche. Most sites take longer. We would rather set a slower expectation and beat it. See the case studies.
Measurement
Digital marketing KPIs: how Digital Magma reports results
Digital marketing KPIs at Digital Magma start with money and work down to channel detail. Every report opens with leads, sales and cost per lead, because those are the numbers that pay salaries.
Business KPIs first
Leads, sales, cost per lead (CPL), cost per acquisition (CPA), return on ad spend (ROAS) and revenue. Where your sales cycle is long, we add pipeline value from your CRM.
Then channel KPIs
- Search: rankings, organic sessions and conversions, from Google Search Console and GA4
- Ads: click-through rate, conversion rate, CPA and ROAS by campaign
- Social: engagement, reach in the target audience and leads from social
- Email: clicks and revenue per email sent
- AI search: brand mentions and citations in AI Overviews, ChatGPT and Perplexity, checked by hand
Page one of every report: leads, sales and cost per lead
Illustration of the report structure, not a client result. Delivered as a Looker Studio dashboard plus a written summary.
Vanity metrics vs value metrics
| Looks good in a slide | Tells you if it worked |
|---|---|
| Impressions and reach | Qualified leads and cost per lead |
| Follower count | Enquiries and sales from social |
| Email open rate | Clicks and revenue per email |
| Keyword rankings alone | Organic conversions and pipeline |
| Ad clicks | Cost per acquisition and ROAS |
Updated September 2026
Digital marketing in 2026: trends and benchmarks, with sources
Digital marketing in 2026 plays out on a very large stage, and the numbers below come from named public sources, linked so you can check each one.
- Internet users: Kepios analysis in DataReportal’s Digital 2026 Global Overview Report puts internet users at 6.04 billion by the start of October 2025.
- Social media: DataReportal counts 5.79 billion social media user identities at the start of April 2026.
- AI summaries and clicks: Pew Research Center found 18% of Google searches in its March 2025 sample produced an AI summary, and clicks on traditional results fell from 15% to 8% of visits when one appeared.
- AI Overviews reach: Google reported over 1.5 billion users in 200 countries and territories at I/O 2025.
- Video: 91% of businesses use video as a marketing tool, according to Wyzowl’s video marketing statistics.
- Email return: in Litmus’s State of Email 2025 findings, 35% of marketing leaders report $10–$36 back for every $1 spent, 30% report $36–$50 and 5% more than $50 (Litmus).
Five shifts shaping budgets this year
Zero-click search
More questions end on the results page or inside an AI answer. Calls, direction requests and branded searches now belong in every report. See AI Overviews optimisation.
Privacy and consent
Consent Mode v2 in Europe and the UK and India’s DPDP Act make first-party data and clean consent records part of campaign planning.
Short-form video by default
Reels, Shorts and vertical ads are where much of the cheapest reach sits. Brands without a steady supply of short clips pay more per view. See video marketing.
Ad automation
Performance Max and Advantage+ decide more targeting themselves, so conversion data quality and creative variety now drive results.
WhatsApp as a sales channel
In India, many buyers would rather message than fill a form. Click-to-WhatsApp ads and opt-in follow-up close that gap, alongside email marketing.
Avoid these
Digital marketing mistakes and myths to avoid
Digital marketing mistakes cost the most in the first three months, when budgets are set and habits form. These are the ones Digital Magma sees most often in new accounts.
Spending before tracking works
Without reliable conversion tracking, you cannot tell which campaign brought the sale, and the ad platforms’ bidding learns from bad data.
Six channels on a small budget
Spread thin, no channel gets enough spend or attention to learn. Two done well will teach you more in a quarter.
Judging by reach and followers
Big numbers in a report feel good. If leads and sales are flat, the plan is not working, however many people saw the posts.
Letting the agency own your accounts
If the ad account, analytics or domain sits in an agency’s name, switching providers means starting from zero. Keep ownership, grant access.
Buying followers, links or lists
Bought followers do not buy from you. Bought links can trigger search penalties. Bought email lists can breach GDPR, CASL or the DPDP Act and damage your sender reputation.
Myth: “Digital marketing is just social media”
Social media is one channel. For many businesses, search and email bring more revenue per rupee, while social builds the familiarity that makes those channels convert.
Myth: “AI means SEO and agencies are finished”
Google’s guidance on AI Overviews and AI Mode in Search says there are no additional requirements to appear in AI Overviews or AI Mode, and that ordinary SEO good practice still applies. AI answers change what good SEO looks like. They make weak SEO more costly, and they have not replaced it. Read more on our AI SEO page.

Four lessons from the founder
Fix tracking before spending
Until the account can tell a real lead from a page view, every optimisation is a guess.
Start narrow
Two channels done well beat six done badly. Add the next one when cost per lead is steady.
Search and ads share one brain
Paid search data shows which keywords convert. Those become SEO priorities, and the rankings then cut ad costs.
Rank before the trend
By the time every tool shows a keyword, you are late. Publish while it is still growing.

FAQs
Digital marketing services: frequently asked questions
What do digital marketing services include?
Digital marketing services include SEO, AI search visibility, Google and social ads, social media, video, content writing, digital PR, email and WhatsApp marketing, websites, Amazon marketing and analytics. Digital Magma offers all of them, but most clients start with two or three channels chosen for their goal, then add more once tracking shows what pays.
How much do digital marketing services cost?
Digital Magma’s SEO starts at ₹14,999 a month for local SEO and ₹29,999 a month for ongoing SEO, plus GST, or US$249 and US$499 outside India. AI visibility starts at ₹19,999 a month. Full digital marketing plans are a custom quote based on channels, content volume and markets. Ad spend is always separate from our fee.
How long does digital marketing take to show results?
Paid ads can bring leads within weeks once tracking works. SEO and content usually take several months to build, then keep delivering. Our plans review results at 30, 60 and 90 days, and budget moves to whichever channel gives the lowest cost per lead.
Are digital marketing agencies worth it for a small business?
A digital marketing agency is worth it for a small business when every rupee is tracked to leads and the plan starts narrow. For small budgets, Digital Magma usually begins with local SEO, a Google Business Profile and one tightly run ad campaign. If the numbers do not justify the fee, we say so.
Should I start with SEO or paid ads?
Start with paid ads if you need leads this month, and with SEO if you can wait and want lower costs later. Many businesses run both: ads bring early leads and show which keywords convert, and those keywords become SEO priorities. The right split depends on urgency, budget and competition.
Which digital marketing channels are right for my business?
The right channels follow your goal. Local businesses usually start with Google Business Profile, local SEO and Search ads. Online stores start with Shopping, product SEO and email. B2B firms start with SEO, LinkedIn and Search ads. The channel table on this page covers six common goals.
Digital marketing agency vs freelancer: which should I hire?
Hire a digital marketing agency when several channels must work together and one party should answer for results. Hire a freelancer for one narrow, well-defined task on a small budget. Many businesses combine an in-house marketer with an agency for search, ads and tracking.
Is ad spend included in your fee?
Ad spend is separate from Digital Magma’s management fee. You pay Google, Meta or LinkedIn directly from your own account and card, so every rupee or dollar is visible in the platform itself. Our written quote shows the management fee on its own.
Who owns the ad accounts, analytics and content?
You own them. Ad accounts, GA4, Search Console, Google Business Profile, social pages, content and the website stay registered to your business. Digital Magma works as a user you add and can remove at any time, so nothing needs handing back if we part ways.
Can you work with our in-house marketing team?
Digital Magma often works alongside an in-house marketer. Your team keeps the brand, calendar and sales feedback, and we run search, ads and tracking. Everyone shares one dashboard and one monthly call, so there is no second version of the numbers.
Do your digital marketing services cover ChatGPT and Google AI Overviews?
Our digital marketing services cover AI search through GEO and AEO inside SEO: answer-first pages, schema markup, consistent business facts and mentions on sites AI tools read. We check ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini and AI Overviews by hand each month. No honest agency can guarantee a citation, and we don’t.
Is it safe to hire a digital marketing agency in India from the USA, UK or UAE?
Hiring an Indian digital marketing agency is safe when accounts stay in your name, scope is written down and consent laws are respected. Digital Magma works in your own ad and analytics accounts, books calls in your time zone and sets up GDPR, UK GDPR, CCPA or CASL-compliant tracking and email as your market needs.
What KPIs will you report on?
Every Digital Magma report opens with leads, sales, cost per lead, CPA, ROAS and revenue. Channel metrics follow: rankings and organic sessions, ad conversion rates, social engagement, email clicks and AI mentions. You get a live Looker Studio dashboard, a written summary and a review call.
Can you guarantee results?
Nobody honest can guarantee rankings, ROAS or AI citations, because Google, Meta and AI tools control those outcomes. Digital Magma guarantees the written scope, the monthly deliverables and transparent reporting. Treat any agency promising “#1 on Google” as a red flag.
