White label web design services: what they are and who does the work

White label web design services are websites that a partner designs and builds, and an agency sells under its own brand. The agency owns the client relationship, the price and the presentation. The partner handles design, development, testing and launch support in the background. Digital Magma provides white label web design services from Noida, India, for agencies in the USA, UK, Canada and Australia.

Only one name is visible in this arrangement. Your agency wins the project and presents every design. We plan, design, code, test and prepare the launch. The client signs off pages that carry your logo.

Most partners start in one of three ways. Some send a finished design and want it built (build only). Some have a strategist and a client but no designer, so we take the job from wireframes onwards (design and build). A few want design concepts only, which their own developer then codes. All three count as white label website design, and the scope document says which one you bought.

Who handles what

White label web design roles: what your agency, Digital Magma and your client handle

In white label web design services, your agency sells, collects feedback and approves, Digital Magma designs, builds and tests, and your client supplies content and access through you. Write these roles into the scope so nobody waits on the wrong person.

Who it suits

White label web design agency partners: who uses a build partner

A white label web design agency partner fits businesses that sell websites but do not want a development team on the payroll. These five types of agency make up most of the enquiries, and each tends to start with a different first job.

SEO agencies

Your audits keep ending with “the site needs rebuilding”, and the client asks you to handle it. You want the rebuild done without losing the rankings you earned.

Usual first job: a redesign with a redirect map. Our SEO services page explains the search side.

PPC agencies

Ad spend leaks into slow, generic pages. You need landing pages that load fast, match the ad and record every conversion.

Usual first job: a set of landing pages for one PPC account.

Branding and creative studios

You have designers and strong visual work, but nobody who writes code or sets up a CMS.

Usual first job: build only, from your approved design files.

Consultants and fractional CMOs

You sell a relaunch and need a team that delivers it under your name, with SEO and tracking done properly.

Usual first job: design and build of a 10–30 page company site.

Web agencies at capacity

A busy quarter, a platform your team does not cover, or a store project bigger than usual.

Usual first job: overflow on one project, or a Shopify or Next.js build.

What we deliver

White label web design services we deliver: new sites, redesigns, stores and landing pages

Redesigns and migrations

A new site without losing what the old one earned.

  • Content auditWhich pages rank, convert or get links, and which can go
  • Redirect mapA one-to-one 301 for every changed URL
  • Platform movesOld PHP or a builder site to WordPress, WordPress to Shopify, React to Next.js

Ecommerce stores

  • Product schemaPrice and availability marked up to match what the page shows
  • Payment gatewayThe gateway your client chooses, connected and tested with real checkout flows
  • Product importCatalogue migration from spreadsheets or an old store

Landing pages

Single-goal pages for paid campaigns.

  • Message matchHeadline and offer written to the ad group, not the homepage
  • Conversion trackingForm, call and click events sent to GA4 through Google Tag Manager

Build from your designs

For studios that design in-house.

  • Design reviewWe check your design files for missing mobile, hover and empty states before quoting
  • Accurate buildSpacing, type and components matched to your approved designs
  • White label WordPress developmentEditable blocks, so your client can change content without breaking the layout

Custom and headless builds

When speed and search matter most.

  • Next.js websitesServer-side rendering, so crawlers receive full HTML on the first request
  • Headless CMSAn editing back end feeding a separate React front end
  • IntegrationsForms sent to the client’s CRM, booking tool or inbox

Need the website copy written too? Our writers handle it as part of the scope. See content writing services. For WordPress specifically, see our WordPress page. These pages carry our name, so keep them for your own research.

Platforms

White label website platforms: WordPress, WooCommerce, Shopify or Next.js for your client

White label website projects at Digital Magma run on four platforms: WordPress, WooCommerce, Shopify and custom React or Next.js. The right one is the platform your client’s team can edit after handover without calling you, or us.

PlatformBest forWho edits it after handoverHostingWatch-outs
WordPress (block theme)Service firms, B2B, content-heavy sitesClient staff, after a short walkthroughAny good host, in the client’s or your accountSomeone must own plugin updates
WooCommerceStores that want full control of dataClient staff, with some technical helpNeeds a host that scales with the catalogueExtensions add licence renewals
ShopifyProduct brands that want hosted checkoutClient staff, easilyIncluded in the Shopify planMonthly app fees and fixed URL paths
Next.js / ReactSaaS, startups, fast or app-like sitesDevelopers, or editors through a headless CMSA Node-friendly host, with a CDN in frontPlan who maintains the code

WordPress is the default for most agency clients because their next marketing hire has probably used it. Wix and Squarespace are outside what we build on.

Process

White label web design process: from brief to launch in 8 steps

Digital Magma’s white label web design services follow eight steps, and each one ends in an output you approve before the next starts. Stage dates are set in each proposal rather than promised in advance.

1

NDA and partner terms

On request, signed before you share the client’s name. Output: signed paperwork.

2

Brief and written scope

Goals, pages, templates, platform, integrations and who supplies content. Output: a statement of work for your approval.

3

Sitemap and wireframes

Page list, URL plan and layouts for each template. Output: wireframes you present to the client.

4

Visual design

Desktop and mobile designs, or your design files checked for gaps. Output: signed-off designs.

5

Build on a staging site

Development on a password-protected staging site with neutral naming. Output: a review link you can share.

6

QA against the definition of done

Speed, devices, forms, tracking, SEO and accessibility checks. Output: a completed QA sheet.

7

Launch

DNS steps, SSL, redirects, tracking and the XML sitemap submitted in Search Console. Output: a launch checklist.

8

Handover and post-launch check

Logins, licences, files and an unbranded walkthrough video. Output: the handover pack.

Scope

White label web design scope: revisions, change requests and avoiding scope creep

White label web design services go wrong in the gap between what an agency sold and what the partner priced. Digital Magma closes that gap with a written scope for every project, signed by you before design starts.

  • Pages and templates: listed by name. Ten pages built from three templates is a different job from ten unique layouts.
  • Functionality and integrations: forms, booking, CRM, search, filters, memberships. Each one written down.
  • Content responsibility: who writes, who supplies images, who uploads. Late content delays more launches than late code.
  • Revision rounds: the number per stage is set in each proposal. We do not publish a default, because projects differ.
  • Change requests: anything outside scope is quoted before work starts, so you can re-price it to your client first.

Quality

White label web development quality: our definition of done

White label web development is finished at Digital Magma when the site passes a written checklist, not when it looks right on one laptop. These are the checks every build goes through on staging before you see a launch date.

  • Core Web Vitals: Largest Contentful Paint (LCP) 2.5 s or less, Interaction to Next Paint (INP) 200 ms or less and Cumulative Layout Shift (CLS) 0.1 or less, the “good” thresholds published on web.dev. Lab-tested in PageSpeed Insights and Lighthouse before launch
  • Responsive design: mobile-first layouts checked on current iOS and Android phones and the main desktop browsers
  • Forms: every form submitted end to end, notifications received, spam protection working
  • Tracking: GA4 and Google Tag Manager installed, conversion events firing, Google Search Console verified
  • SEO basics: unique titles and meta descriptions, one H1 per page, schema markup that matches the visible text, XML sitemap, robots.txt and 301 redirects
  • Clean content: no placeholder text, no broken links, images compressed and given alt text
  • Accessibility: the checks in the next section

A Screaming Frog crawl of the staging site closes QA, and its export goes into the QA sheet you receive.

Accessibility

White label website accessibility: building to WCAG 2.2 AA

White label website builds from Digital Magma target WCAG 2.2 AA conformance, because a site you resell carries its accessibility risk to you and your client. Most of the web still fails basic checks.

The WebAIM Million 2026 scan of the top million home pages found detectable WCAG 2 failures on 95.9% of them, with 56.1 errors per page on average. The three most common problems are cheap to prevent at build time: low-contrast text, images with missing alt text and form fields without labels.

The legal side matters for US clients. The US Department of Justice’s web accessibility guidance says “Title III prohibits discrimination against people with disabilities by businesses open to the public.” That is general information, not legal advice, and your client’s lawyer is the right person to judge their exposure.

What we do on every build, against the W3C’s WCAG 2.2 success criteria:

  • Colour contrast checked for text, buttons and focus states
  • Full keyboard navigation, with a visible focus outline
  • Labels on every form field and clear error messages
  • Alt text on meaningful images, empty alt on decorative ones
  • A logical heading order and a language attribute on every page
  • An automated scan in Lighthouse, then a manual keyboard pass

Two honest limits. Automated tools catch only part of the issues, which is why the manual pass exists. And content your client adds after launch can break conformance, so the handover pack includes a one-page guide to accessible editing. We do not issue legal compliance certificates.

SEO

White label web design with SEO built in: migrations, redirects and schema

White label web design services from Digital Magma are planned by an SEO-led team, headed by a founder with more than ten years in search, so search is part of the build from the sitemap onwards. For SEO agencies, that matters most on redesigns, where a launch can quietly undo years of rankings.

  • Before the build: a full crawl of the old site in Screaming Frog, plus Search Console data, to list every URL that ranks, converts or has links
  • Redirect map: a 301 for every changed URL to its closest new match, never a blanket redirect to the homepage
  • Content parity: pages that rank keep their key copy, headings and internal links unless you approve a change
  • JavaScript sites: server-side rendering or pre-rendering, so search and AI crawlers receive real HTML
  • Launch week: redirects tested in bulk, XML sitemap resubmitted, Search Console coverage and 404s checked

Schema markup follows the same rule as the copy: Organization, Service, Product or FAQ markup only where it matches what the page visibly says. For a deeper look at when to rebuild and when to fix, read our guide on WordPress SEO audit or redesign. Ongoing SEO after launch can be resold too, through our white label SEO services.

Brand protection

White label web design and brand protection: NDA, no credits and no leaks in the code

White label web design services only work if your client never finds the partner’s name. Digital Magma signs an NDA on request, has no contact with your client unless you ask, and leaves the relationship and the price with you.

The common fear is the obvious one: will the partner approach my client directly? We do not contact your client unless you ask, and non-solicitation terms, including how long they last, are written into the partner agreement. Have your lawyer review the wording.

The less obvious risk is a leak in the website itself: the theme’s header comment, the dashboard screenshot, a commit history, image metadata, the address that sends form notifications. A curious client, or their next developer, can find any of them in five minutes.

So the checklist on the right is part of the definition of done, not an extra. Anything we cannot neutralise, such as a platform’s own credit that the plan does not let you remove, is flagged to you before launch.

Handover and ownership

White label website handover: domains, hosting, licences and code ownership

A white label website handover should leave your agency or your client owning everything, with nothing tied to the partner. With Digital Magma, ownership of the domain, hosting, code, design files and licences is agreed in writing before the build starts.

AssetWho should own itHow Digital Magma works with it
Domain and DNSYour client, or your agency, in their own registrar accountWe ask for delegated access, or send you the exact DNS records to add
HostingYour client or your agencyWe work as an added user and never open the account in our name
CMS or store adminOwner account in your client’s or your agency’s nameOur user is removed after handover, or kept only under a care agreement
Theme, plugin and app licencesBought in your client’s or your agency’s nameWe list each one with its renewal date, so renewals never depend on us
Code and design filesYour agency, to pass on as your contract saysDelivered in full, with the code repository transferred if one was used
Logins listYour agencyShared through a secure method you choose, never in plain email

Why put ownership in writing? Because disputes over websites are rarely about design. They start when a client leaves an agency and discovers the domain, the hosting or a premium plugin licence sits in someone else’s account. Agree it in the statement of work, check that your own client contract says the same, and have your lawyer read both. This is a checklist, not legal advice.

Hours and communication

White label web design agency in India: time zones, design reviews and launch windows

As a white label web design agency in India, Digital Magma works Monday to Saturday, 9 am to 9 pm India Standard Time. IST is UTC+5:30 all year, so our working day runs from 03:30 to 15:30 UTC.

Our hours converted to your local time from each zone’s UTC offset and IST (UTC+05:30). Late-evening start times fall the day before.
Where your team sitsOur hours, daylight saving timeOur hours, standard time
New York and Toronto11:30 pm – 11:30 am EDT10:30 pm – 10:30 am EST
Chicago10:30 pm – 10:30 am CDT9:30 pm – 9:30 am CST
Los Angeles and Vancouver8:30 pm – 8:30 am PDT7:30 pm – 7:30 am PST
London4:30 am – 4:30 pm BST3:30 am – 3:30 pm GMT
Sydney and Melbourne2:30 pm – 2:30 am AEDT1:30 pm – 1:30 am AEST

For design work the time difference often helps. You leave consolidated feedback at the end of your day, revisions happen during ours, and the updated staging link is waiting when you start. Live design reviews fit a US morning, most of a UK day or an Australian afternoon. West Coast partners get the thinnest overlap, so those projects lean on written notes and early calls.

Launches benefit too: a US site’s quiet hours fall inside our working day.

Every project has one named project manager. We publish no fixed turnaround or reply time: stage dates go into each proposal. You choose the channels: email, video calls, phone or WhatsApp. Questions first? Contact us.

White label web design proof: projects and reviews, labelled honestly

White label web design results belong to the agencies that sold them, so Digital Magma shows only direct engagements here, anonymised and labelled. The first is a website build. The other two show the search work that sits behind our builds.

Pricing

White label web design pricing: what drives the quote and how agencies resell

White label web design pricing at Digital Magma is a custom quote per project, sent after we read the brief. There is no partner rate card, because a five-page brochure site and a 2,000-product store share almost nothing except a domain name.

Pricing modelHow it worksBest for
Fixed project priceOne price for the written scopeClear briefs with content ready
PhasedDesign priced first, then the build once designs are approvedProjects where the client is still deciding scope
Build plus monthly careA project price, then a monthly plan for updates and editsClients who want one supplier after launch
Reserved monthly capacityA block of design and development time shared across your projectsAgencies selling several sites a quarter

What moves a quote up or down

  • Number of unique templates, more than number of pages
  • Design from scratch, or build from your design files
  • Custom functionality and integrations
  • Ecommerce catalogue size and variants
  • Content migration volume and redirect mapping
  • Copywriting, if we write the pages
  • Depth of accessibility testing

How to resell without losing margin

Quote your client after our scope comes back, not before. Then add three things to your own price: your project-management hours, a buffer for client delays, and a change-request clause that mirrors ours.

Running costs sit outside the build fee: domain, hosting, premium themes, plugins or Shopify apps, and care after launch. List them as separate lines, so your client sees them before launch rather than on a renewal email.

Need a number for one project? Send the brief with a sitemap or two reference sites, and Digital Magma replies with a scope and a custom quote for its white label web design services.

How your service quote is scoped

₹40,000 is our minimum paid engagement, not a fixed price for every service or a promise that every deliverable is included. For this service, the quote depends on page templates, design complexity, ecommerce or LMS features, integrations, content migration and launch support.

Recurring work is quoted per month; a standalone audit, build or production project is quoted separately. Your proposal confirms deliverables, quantities, timelines, revisions, applicable taxes and third-party costs before work begins. Larger programmes are custom quoted with no upper price limit.

Compare

White label web design vs an in-house developer vs a freelancer

White label web design services suit agencies whose website sales are real but uneven. An in-house developer pays off once there is a steady queue of builds. A freelancer fits small, single-skill jobs where a missed week will not hurt.

For a salary anchor, the US Bureau of Labor Statistics (Occupational Outlook Handbook) puts the median annual wage for web developers and digital designers at $99,520 in May 2025. Web developers alone sit at $92,650, and web and digital interface designers at $104,000. Benefits, software and management time come on top, and one hire rarely covers both design and code.

Our view: hire once steady work can keep a developer busy all year. Before that, or for a platform your team does not know, a partner carries less risk. Agencies that want people working only on their accounts can look at a dedicated SEO team for search, or read our guide to hiring digital marketing experts.

Choosing a partner

White label web design partner checklist: questions to ask and red flags

Choose a white label web design partner on how it handles scope, ownership and quality, not on a gallery of screenshots. Ask every provider these questions, Digital Magma included, and compare the written answers.

Questions to ask

  • Who is my single point of contact on each project?
  • How many revision rounds are included per stage?
  • What does “done” mean, in writing?
  • Who owns the code, licences, hosting and logins?
  • How do you test accessibility, and to what standard?
  • How are redirects handled on a redesign?
  • Where do we communicate, and when do we overlap?
  • What support is available after launch?
  • How can you show your work without breaking other agencies’ NDAs?

Red flags

  • Licences or hosting kept in the partner’s own account
  • A “designed by” footer credit by default
  • No staging site, so you review on the live domain
  • No written scope before design starts
  • “Unlimited revisions” with no process behind it
  • No answer when you ask about accessibility
  • Nulled or pirated themes and plugins

A good test: start with a small project, such as a landing page set, and judge the scope, staging build and handover pack.

After launch

White label website maintenance after launch: updates, backups and monitoring

White label website maintenance from Digital Magma can be added after launch as a separate written scope, quoted per site and reported under your brand. It keeps the site you sold working, so the client does not blame your agency for an expired certificate or a broken plugin.

  • Updates: WordPress core, theme and plugin updates, or Shopify app and theme changes, tested on staging first
  • Backups: scheduled backups stored off the server, with a restore test
  • Monitoring: uptime monitoring, SSL renewal checks and security alerts
  • Speed: a monthly Core Web Vitals check in PageSpeed Insights
  • Links: a monthly Screaming Frog crawl for broken links and redirect chains
  • Small edits: content changes within hours agreed in the scope
  • Report: a short monthly summary, unbranded or in your branding

Common mistakes

White label web design mistakes agencies make, and how to avoid them

Most problems with white label web design services start before the partner opens a design file. These six come up in partner conversations again and again, and each has a simple fix.

Quoting the client first

You promise a price and a date, then the partner’s scope comes back bigger. Get the scope first, then quote.

Designing before content exists

Layouts built around placeholder text break when the real copy arrives at twice the length. Ask for draft content before wireframes.

Redesigning without a redirect map

Old URLs vanish and the traffic goes with them. Map every ranking URL before launch. Our audit or redesign guide explains the trade-off.

Licences in the partner’s name

The site stops updating the day the partnership ends. Buy every licence in your client’s or your agency’s name.

Skipping accessibility

The client did not ask, so nobody checked. Then a complaint arrives. Build it in from the start, where it costs least.

Forwarding feedback piecemeal

Twelve emails from four people use up a revision round on contradictions. Send one consolidated list per round.

Honest advice

White label web design: when white label is not the right fit

White label web design services are the wrong choice in five situations, and Digital Magma would rather say so before you sign. Each card names a better route.

In-person brand workshops or shoots

The project depends on on-site photography or workshops in the client’s office. Instead: a local creative studio for that part, with a partner building afterwards.

Complex custom software

Portals or apps with heavy back-end logic are software projects rather than websites. Instead: a dedicated software team. For course platforms, see learning management system development.

Open-ended revisions

The client wants unlimited changes with no scope. Instead: fix the contract first. No partner can rescue a project without one.

Same-day live edits in US hours

Some clients need a developer on call during their own afternoon. Instead: a developer in the same time zone.

A one-page DIY site

A client who can build a simple page on a DIY builder may not need a partner fee at all. Instead: point them to the builder and sell them help with SEO or ads.

FAQs

White label web design services: frequently asked questions

Short answers to what agency owners ask before buying white label web design services, from ownership and NDAs to platforms, pricing and accessibility.

What are white label web design services?

White label web design services are websites designed and built by a partner and sold by an agency under its own brand. The agency keeps the client, the price and the presentation. The partner handles design, development, testing and launch support. Digital Magma provides this from Noida, India, for agencies in the USA, UK, Canada and Australia.

How does white label web design work for an agency?

You send a brief, and we return a written scope and custom quote. Once you approve, we produce wireframes and designs for you to present, build on a staging site, test against our definition of done and prepare the launch. Your client sees only your agency at every stage, and receives the handover pack from you.

Will my client know another company built the website?

Only if you tell them. We add no footer credits, clean theme and author details, stage the site on a neutral subdomain, keep our name out of file metadata and send notifications from your or your client’s address. We have no contact with your client unless you ask.

Who owns the website, code, licences and logins?

Your agency or your client, as agreed in writing before the build. Domain, hosting, admin owner accounts and licences sit in your client’s or your agency’s name, and code and design files are delivered in full. Our user accounts are removed after handover unless you keep us on for care.

Which platforms do you build on?

Digital Magma builds on WordPress, WooCommerce, Shopify and custom React or Next.js. WordPress suits most service and content sites, Shopify suits product brands that want hosted checkout, and Next.js suits sites where speed and server-side rendering justify a developer after launch.

Can you build from designs we already have?

That is one of the most common set-ups. Send your approved design files and any style guide. We check them for missing mobile, hover and empty states before quoting, then build to match. If your files have gaps, we tell you at scoping rather than guess during the build.

How much do white label web design services cost?

Digital Magma quotes each project after reading the brief. Price depends mostly on unique templates, custom integrations, catalogue size, content migration and whether we design or build from your files. Models include a fixed price, phased design then build, or a reserved monthly block for agencies with several projects.

How long does a white label website take?

It depends on scope and on how quickly content and feedback arrive. We do not publish a standard turnaround. Each proposal sets dates for every stage: scope, wireframes, design, build, QA and launch. Late client content is the most common cause of delay, so agree a content deadline early.

How many revisions are included?

The number of revision rounds per stage is written into each proposal, so it can match what you promised your client. Changes outside the agreed scope are quoted before any work starts. One consolidated list of feedback per round keeps rounds productive.

Do you build websites to WCAG accessibility standards?

Every build targets WCAG 2.2 AA. We check contrast, keyboard navigation, focus states, form labels, alt text and heading order, using an automated Lighthouse scan plus a manual keyboard pass. We do not issue legal compliance certificates, and content added after launch can break conformance, so the handover includes editing notes.

Will the website be SEO-friendly at launch?

SEO is part of the definition of done: unique titles and descriptions, one H1 per page, schema markup matching the visible text, XML sitemap, robots.txt, 301 redirects, GA4 and Tag Manager tracking, and a verified Search Console property. JavaScript builds use server-side rendering so crawlers receive real HTML.

Can you redesign or migrate a site without losing rankings?

Rankings are protected by process, though no one can promise them. We crawl the old site, list every URL that ranks or has links, map each to a new URL with a 301, keep key copy on ranking pages and check Search Console after launch. Skipping the redirect map is where most migrations go wrong.

Do you offer maintenance after launch?

Care after launch can be added as a separate scope, quoted per site: tested updates, backups with a restore test, uptime and SSL monitoring, a monthly speed check, broken-link crawls and small edits within agreed hours. Reports are unbranded or in your branding.

Do you sign an NDA and agree not to approach our clients?

Digital Magma signs an NDA on request, before you share a client name. We do not contact your client unless you ask. Non-solicitation terms, including how long they last, are agreed and written into the partner agreement. Ask any provider for that clause, and have your lawyer review it.

Can you work with our hosting and our client’s domain?

That is how we prefer to work. You or your client keep the hosting and registrar accounts and add us as a user, or we send the exact DNS records for you to enter. We never move a domain or open hosting in our own name.

White label web design project: send a brief to Digital Magma

Digital Magma starts every partnership the same way: send one project brief, with a sitemap or two reference sites, and tell us what you have promised the client. We reply with a written scope, proposed stage dates and a custom quote. If you want an NDA first, say so and we sign before you share the client’s name.

  • One brief with the pages, platform and integrations you have in mind
  • A written scope you can check against your client contract
  • A custom quote you can price your own offer from
